    Hi everyone reading along
I been making these pens since I was a little girl
I try my best to describe how to make them.
I myself prefer rayon thread the one you use in Japanese embroidery (BUNKA) but since the mice went in to my thread I don't have any leftovers. So I use different embroidery thread.

You need two colours, one for the base and one for the wrapping. And one ballpoint pen, (I prefer the brand BIG).
Cut between 10-20 pieces of thread 4 times the length of the pen. More or less depending on the thickness of the thread.
Cut one piece 6 times the length of the pen.
Now take the long piece and fold it in two and tape it to the table.
Now take the others and fold them each in half and loop one by one to the one taped to the table hope you understand what I'm trying to say
Stop when you reach the amount that you can wrap around the top of the pen, where it's narrower. Tie a knot.
Now start with the other colour.
Tie a knot at the beginning, just below the loops.
Then start wrapping, if you want to make decorations!! Lift the base threads and wrap underneath 3-4 times, put them back down and continue wrapping again.
I myself personalize almost every pen I make. I spell names in to it??? Lift and wrap.
When you reach the end start making double knots, switch thread after each row so it looks like a net.
Turn the long thread a few times around make a bride, turn the long thread more and make a knot.
Cut all the remaining thread so that it's just a little shorter then the pen.
Depending on the thread you can leave it like that or open it up and brush it so that it turns out fluffy.
If you have any question just ask. I try my best to explain.
My English is not so good, so please ask if you need more help. I could post some pictures. ( But give me a few days) have to make some
PS: when I was 9 years old my cousin in Italy gave me one of these pens. I studied it so much till I made some
I used to get some Christmas money at school, selling them to my friends
I'm making these pens for about 29 years now. OHHHHHH my that's a long time hehehe
the one thing I have problems with is when my tennis elbow bugs me then my wrist hurts from holding on to it to make it real tight.
when you wrap the Name in it just make sure that you pull on them when you continue to wrap with the dark color, I usually use 11 strings for the name.
