DIY Craft Projects Tutorial Archives - How Tos - Barbwire Crafts - make wreaths, bowls, baskets and decorate with barbwire.

For centre pieces for my cousins wedding we purchased small cowboy hats and attached a horseshoe to the side if them with wheat, flowers and ribbon. The horseshoes were used ones so we sprayed them to match.
On the stage we put bales, saddles, hat , boots along with flowers, corn stocks, cow skulls.
Throughout the whole hall we had slabs and fences with hats and flowers and burlap bows.
The cake table had a Texas longhorn horns behind it and infront was wagon wheels, chaps, bridles and a cow skull and branding irons. It took us 2 days to decorate for this wedding but it turned out just fantastic.
For another wedding I did stirups decorated up for centre pieces. Hope this helps you out. Please forgive all the typos!!!

To make the baskets and bowls yourself from the barbed wire is easy if you have strong hands and GOOD leather gloves.
Wrap the wire around a form [like a bowl from the kitchen] tying the "intersections" of wire with either hog rings or bailing wire.
    Then spray black or gunmetal.
Basically easy, but only for the brave 'cause the wire seems to have a mind of it's own!
    Something like these 'puters....

    Hope this helps,
    :-))
