When my kids were in Sunday School, the teacher gave each child a piece
of white paper aboout 4 inches square, and a red pencil;
they were to make Xs or marks of some sort on the paper,
to denote sins, bad things, or words etc.
The paper was covered with a matching sized sheet of red acetate
(transparent red plastic might do) and the marks were made invisible.
The red acetate was to show how Jesus' blood took away the sins.
