Subject: Stocking Rocks

Back in the spring I found directions for Treasure Rocks.
I have modified the idea to be used at Christmas time:
I went to the bank and purchased half dollars.
Silver dollars are too hard to find and cost more than a dollar, unless you use Susan B. Anthony Dollars...
I wrapped two half dollars in foil.
Then, using plain plaster of paris, I made a thick solution and molded it around the foil wrapped half dollars so it resembled a rock.
After they dry, paint them with black spray paint and attach this poem:

BECAUSE YOU GOT A LUMP OF COAL
DON'T THINK THAT YOU'VE BEEN BAD...
JUST SMACK IT WITH A HAMMER AND
YOUR TREASURE YOU WILL HAVE!!!!!

These have been a real hit at the craft bazaars I attend.
Parents love putting a lump of coal in their kid's stockings, and then the kids don't feel so bad when they break it open and get money!
If anyone makes these, you must work the plaster fast or it will set up too soon.
Only make enough for about 6 at at time.
Enjoy!
