Using an F hook this square will be 5 inches. So you can add more rows to get the desired size of 6 inches or a larger hook.

chain 8 and join with sl st to form a ring,
RD.1; 16 sc in ring.

RD.2; (sc, ch10, sk 3 sc) 4 times, sl st in 1st sc.

Rd.3; (11 sc in 10-ch sp, 1 sc in next sc) 4 times, sl st in 1st sc .

Rd.4; *sc in each of 6 sts, 2 sc in next st to form corner, 1 si in each of 5 sts *, rep from * 3 times, sl st in 1st sc.

RD.5; 1 sc in each st and 2 sc at each corner, sl st in 1st sc. Repeat rnd 5 for desired size.
