Crochet Butterfly Magnet or pin

These take about 15 min. to make. They sell for around $3 a piece
Materials:
about 11 yards of main color and 9 yds. of contrasting color.
worsted yarn, 6 in.
pipecleaner,
a magnet strip or pin backing or a safty pin,
glue gun & size H crochet hook.



Finished Measurement: 5x3 in.

with MC(,ain color), chain 5. Sl st in first ch to form ring.
Row 1: Ch 3, dc in ring, ch 1, *2 dc in ring, ch 1. Repeat from* 6X. Join with sl st to top of ch 3- you should have 8 pairs of dc in ring. Sl st to ch1 sp.

Row 2: ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc,ch1) in ch 1 sp, *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch1) in next ch1 sp. Repeat from* 6X. Join with sl st to top of ch 3, fasten off.

Row 3: Join CC(contrasting color) in any ch 2 sp, (ch2, 6 dc, 1 hdc) in same sp, sc in next ch1 sp, *(1 hdc, 6 dc, 1 hdc) in next ch 2 sp, sc in next ch 1 sp, Repeat from * 6X. Sl st to top of ch 2. Fasten off.

fold in half. fold a 6 in. pipecleaner in half and slip over body of butterfly, twist at top of body to secure & curl ends with crochet hook. Glue magnet or pin to back.

I add beads to mine. I glue beads at the tips of the pipecleaner, and a few beads to the body of the butterfly. They are so cute. I do them in thread also. They just come out a little smaller.
