CREATE LIFELIKE FLOWERS & FRUIT WITH ACRYLIC "WATER"
Gathering of permanent flowers(silks..paper..laytex)that look like the
real thing.....then you are half way there....
Available from a variety of manufacturers.. acrylic waster.. a liquid
resin..begins as two separate chemical..usually sold in premeasured
kits..that must be mixed together...Once the two ingredients are
mixed...a cheical reaction causes the resulting substance to begin to
harden...
BEFORE YOU BEGIN...........
Read the instructions......You "must" follow the manufacturer's
instructions carefully or the results could end up looking hazy..have a
yellow cast or it may not harden completely..
Also some designers and manufacturers note that the stems of
hand-wrapped permanent flowers may tend to bleed when placed in the
substance.......Some of the manufacturers offer suggestions for
preventing bleeding...be sure to read carefully the instructions...
CLEAN AND DRY ALL MATERIALS USED.......all containers..and nonfloral
design materials(stones..shells..etc)be
cleaned and dried completely ...or the liquid resin may not
glue properly.....
FIND A LEVEL WORK SURFACE...a level surface is "Mandatory"..You want the
end result look natural..
PRE-ARRANGE THE DESIGN
...Although the solution takes 24 to 36 hours to
dry...the liquid resin is only pliable for design purposes for an hour
or two...it is recommended that arrangements be at least partially
complete before the solution is poured into the container...
FINISHING THE DESIGN
Pour Acrylic Water Carefully..through a disposable funnel....When you
are ready to pour the liquid into the container..be careful to avoid
getting the solution on the walls of the container...try to minimize the
"free fall" to prevent air bubbles.....if you need to rearrange your
flowers be very careful not to splash it on the wall of your
container......
DO NOT EXPOSE YOUR BEAUTIFUL ARRANGEMENT TO...Direct Sunlight or other
intense light sources...it might
affect the the clear appearance of the water..do not expose it to
extreme cold or hot...just a normal surrounding..
TIP:::::::::::To hold your floral arrangement...get a small piece of
chicken wire ...place on the top of the container bending the sides of
wire over your container....when the water has harden..take a clipper
and cut it away from flowers...
FOR FRUIT IN A JAR OR SOME KIND OF CONTAINER
..take the wire ball up and
mash down on top of fruit so it pushes the fruit into the water
solution...take out when fruit is hard and you can put the lid on or
keep it off.....good for displays for counters...
I hope that you will enjoy this project...I am happy to share this with
you..Mother's Day is almost here ...Excellent gift...long lasting.....
