Take a disposable baking sheet from your cupboard.
Cut out a desired shape, say a star.
Then, working on a soft surface (like a small stack of magazines) and using a ballpoint pen or other dull, pointed instrument, draw a design on the star.

If you can't draw, use a coloring book or a template from any craft magazine to obtain your design.
You can punch holes in the sheet by using an awl and a hammer - but do this on a block of wood.
Finally, if you want to color the ornament, use permanent markers.
Punch a hole in the top and loop a length of silver or gold ribbon through.
