I kept all of the flowers we received when my son was born.
I dried them all and put the petals in a sterilized bottle and filled it with lamp oil (for oil candles, not lanterns.)
Tap bottle gently to release air bubbles, cork and seal. It will last forever!!!
P.S. Please make sure all flowers are fully dry first or they will mould over time.

Here's an idea for a yet-to-be-born baby:
When I went to the hospital to give birth to my daughter I took a onesie and had her footprints put on it when they did the
baby book.
I also had the doctors and nurses who took care of me autograph it with a permanent marker.
It went over big and I like my keepsake. It's not something she wears, of course, but it reminds me of that special day.

My sister just recently had a baby and received as a baby gift a Time Capsule.
It was a large tin can(like you get the popcorn in), it was painted blue & pink with baby things all over it.
(This was bought and was professionally done.
She's put the outfit she brought her baby home from the Hospital, a Beanie Baby with the same birthdate as her baby,
a copy of the newspaper on the birth date.
Basically she's put items that can't be put in the baby book.
I think this is a great idea and can be opened and looked at for years to come.

Here is something I did with my son. I took a tape recorder and recorded the date and him making baby noises.
I did this throughout his childhood, especially when he first started to talk.
He is now a teenager and still loves to hear himself as a baby. Good luck.
