Sheila, a few years ago I made favors for a Communion party that turned out quite well and very pretty.
I made little white books as follows:I took a white index card ( 3x5 ) folded in in half.
On one side I wrote all the info about to the communion ( church..date..time, etc. ) On the other side I wrote the child's name.
Now to make this into a book, I cut batting the same size as the card and glued it to the outside of the card.
Then I covered the batting with white satin. Then trim the outside of the " book" with tiny white, gathered white lace.
To decorate the front of the book, I added a tiny gold cross. You could also add ribbon to tie the book.
Just glue the ribbon between the card and the batting. Hope this helps.
