I know lots of us are making some Christmas ornaments etc. but was just wondering if there are any that have made some recycled ones, they would like to share here on the boards. Just no recycled Froggy's! Or maybe we need to re-cycle our Froggy. Right about now, she probably feels like... she either is recycled, or needs recycling.

and here a other one:
make a big balloon ornament.
take a balloon round if possible.
some wool choose colors you like or even string is good.
cut out some long strings and put them into PVA glue take the excess away and layer them on a plastic for a few minutes, don`t let them dry totally!
Now you take one string and put it curved on the balloon (the balloon will be stand in a bowl so it wont move.
place the springs in every direction so the touch each other leaving just a bit of space.
make 3/4 of the balloon and let it dry. Then after its dry turn over the balloon and finish the rest of it in the same way.
once its dry take some glue and go over some of the strings and ad glitter if you like.
when this is dry pup the balloon( be careful that its not fall all together).remove the balloon.
voila
you can make small once for the x-mas tree by using water balloons.
what looks grate is the fluffy wool who has like hair sticking out.

Yes me last year.
I made 4 x-mas stockings:
to make one here what you need.
-
Newspapers
paper tacks (not sure how they are called)
glue
plastic bag
cotton
scott towels
acrylic paint
(applications like glitter ect.)
cut a few layers of newspaper in form of a stocking.
and for each stocking 2 layers of plastic the same way.
the plastic has to be in the inside so you can ad goodies without getting it in to the paper direct.
tack them together letting one opening.
put some scrunch paper into the stocking (remove after finish).
papermache the stocking with scott towels the glue can be already be mixed with paint to give a nice color.
Make one side let dry and then make the next side.
If needed color it some more.
Glue cotton on or whatever you like to let it look like a stocking.
The once I named are red, green and a gold one.
Ad the Name with Gold or silver.
don’t forget to add a ribbon so you can hang it.
remove the scrunched newspaper and the stocking is done.
The stocking are pretty hard and hang grate on the wall.
As soon I get my box out from the basement with my x-mas stuff I will be make pictures so you can see them.
have fun and don’t forget this is a grate craft to do with kids.
hugs sabe

Metal 3 lb. Coffee Lid Frame

The concept of using the lid is not mine, but the design is. I turned the edge over l/4" to the top side with needle nose pliers. This caused a crinkled effect which looked nice I thought and did away with sharpe edges. I measured four sides so they would be even when I bent them. Then I put each edge in a vice and bent them as you see them. Then I spray painted all but the inside flat surface gold and let dry.
I glued a piece of cardboard on the inside flat surface to cover the ripples in the tin then glued in some clipart (a little girl watching a tiny bluebird up in what looks like a cherry blossom tree); painted the whole thing with Tulip glitter 3D paint "Champagne" and let dry; glued a string of gold beads around the inside edge, some braided trim around the outside edge and a ribbon bow with hanger on top.
If you are wondering why this is hanging outside, it is the only place I could get my camera to take a half way decent picture of something with glitter all over it. Flashes don't take well to photographing glitter. I found I needed natural light.

I posted this on a couple of other boards and then thought I should post it here to. lol
Does anyone have any new ideas for christmas ornaments using pinecones, pods from different plants, bark, or different things found in the outdoors. Looking for different ideas, not the same old thing. I have some round pieces cut from small logs and I was wondering if anyone has any unique ideas for them too? TIA

Hi Nature Lady,
Don't forget sweet gum balls; I have seen Christmas trees made of them and teddy bears. I have seen a small, short log with three holes drilled in the top for candles, then decorated with holiday trim and bow. I have seen a tiny nativity scene painted inside the milkweed pods. Snowmen and angels made out of pinecones cones using acorns or hickory nuts for a head. You can also gather up any kind of plant life; dry it; paint it different colors for the holiday; tie together at the stem end and add a pretty papertwist bow (I have one of those.) Have fun.

Those tiny pinecones can be glued together to make a small wreath for ornaments, decorate them with tiny beads, maybe put a small bird in the middle. Or you can glue them in different shapes...bells, crosses, stars. Add a ribbon or thin lace for hanging.
Milkweed pods you can paint the top part red for Santa's hat add the fake snow for the fur, and use snow for the bottom for his beard. Then just paint the face in the middle. Those pods work great for angel wings too. You could use an acorn for a head, pinecone for the body and milkweed pods for the wings, and dried grasses braided for a halo.
Some of your unique seed pods you could glue in clusters and spray paint either clear, or silver or gold and hang with a small ribbon, gold, silver, red or green.
Some of your mosses that are growing now, you can carefully pull up trying not to get any soil, shake off any soil or critters, then bake in the oven at about 200 degrees for about 15 minutes to kill any critters hiding in there, then you could cover small styrofoam balls, pinecones, even old glass ornaments by gluing the moss to them, then decorate them any way you want, using tiny pinecones, small dried flowers, even old buttons or small beads. Add a ruffle of lace at the top and a ribbon for hanging.
You can make little bundles of dried flowers, grasses and ferns and tie with raffia, garden twine or ribbon.
The wood, you could cut out pictures off old Christmas cards and glue them to the wood, family pictures, and seal them with a clear spray. On the back you could write the date and your name. If you want to decorate them more you can add lace around or jute depending on the look you want.
Pieces of bark and wood you could add pictures to, or you could paint something on them, or just add some dried flowers and hang them with twine or ribbon. Or you could just paint Christmas sayings on them using glitter paint, like peace on earth, Joy to the World, Noel, things like that.
You can make your own cards using your dried flowers, pine cone petals, on card stock paper.
Okay, I am going into brain freeze. If I think of anything else, I will post it.
