Glittery pinecone tree

Roxanne, I would love to see how your mom and grandma made pine cone trees and also your father's recipe for candles. Thanks.

I make my trees using a cone from crochet cotton and glue the pinecones to that and decorate then make bases for them to sit on with plaster of paris and cover with a crocheted doiley, then glue the tree on that.

They are only about 10-11 inches high, but they are great for a table top. Some I add different nuts to, glitter, sparkely paint, silk flowers...just depends on who it's for. Here is one I made with sparkley glitter. Margie

Ivana, Thank you. I use goop to glue the pinecones to those cardboard cones from crochet thread, then I use hot glue for the lace and flowers. I use the goop to glue the tree to the base also. Want to make sure that everything holds together good.

You are very welcome Ivana. I make the base out of plaster of paris, but you could also use a wood base, or if you prefer....no base at all. I cover it with a stiffened doily after I have painted the base. I just use my imagination making these and each one is different depending on who I make them for. Have fun! Just remember to cook the pinecones to kill whatever critters that might be living inside.

I cook them at 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes
