froggy I did this years ago.
when I wanted a trailing ivy plant to go all around my room and over my fireplace and could not afford to buy one. And it looked so real people did not believe me when I told them what it was.

Take news paper and cut out your fronds 2 for each one put a piece of wire in the middle so you can bend to arrange your fronds glue your 2 fronds together and spray paint with green and then you can splatter a little lighter green on some to make it more realistic.

I swear they look so real people will touch them and still not believe you. and they last forever. and try papier mache you some coconuts and you can do that over round balloons. whatya think?

Donna, This sounds like a winner. And it sounds like something I could do. The coconut idea was great too. I know now what I'm gonna be saving some newspaper for. I don't read it, so I might as well put it to good use.
