Use floral frogs (heavy spiked metal items that hold fresh flowers in place) to create dramatic but simple floral displays featuring just two or three stems:

Use a forstner drill bit to make a one-inch hole in a piece of driftwood for a small glass container holding a floral frog. Put the container in place and add water /flower stems as desired. Use the same process to make a hole in soapstone, which can hold the frog and water directly.

Floral frogs can be used in any container that will hold a small amount of water --a shallow plate, teacups, bowls and even shells. Use floral putty or tape to hold the frog in the container, and then add water and flowers.

River Rock Holder
Materials:
craft clay
clay knife
rolling pin
scrap fabric
paper cup
decorative rocks
hot glue gun

Steps:
1. Roll the clay to desired thickness over a piece of fabric, which will keep it from sticking to the surface. Cut clay into a square, and then cut the corners off .

2. Cut a paper cup to about 1-1/2 inches in height and use the cut edge to make a slight indentation in the center of the clay. Cut it out with the clay knife and replace the cup in the center.

3. Roll out a smaller circle of clay as above and place it over the cup. Press /blend the edges and allow to dry in this position.

4. Turn over and remove the cup. Glue rocks around the edges of the holder.

5. Put floral frog inside a glass or plastic container and fill with water. Add flowers.
