Covered tissue boxes

Covered tissue boxes, inspired by Rhonda at 5am.
I bet she was sleeping at the time and didn't even know.
I was trying to think of how to cover these tissue boxes I have in my mud room which has a Native American theme, and I just couldn't think.
I didn't want to paint them since I haven't had any painting classes for that, and I happened upon a picture of one of the jars Rhonda decoupaged with cloth. A light bulb went on then, and I rushed to the closet in my den and grabbed my fabric.
This is what I came up with. I use one for my fabric softener sheets that I cut into strips, since I only use about 1/6 of a sheet per load. The other is for used strips to save for whatever I might come up with to use them for. I had to start the New Year out with some kind of craft. What do you all think??? Do they go with my decor?

They sure do go with your decor. And they really look good. I cannot figure how you used a fabric softener strip though.

June, Thanks. I use these to put the fabric softener sheets in. I cut each sheet into about 6 pieces and only use one strip per dryer load. It softens the clothes and doesn't leave a heavily perfumed scent on the clothes. Hubby has asthma and if I use a whole sheet it really bothers him. So after cutting the sheets, I wanted something pretty to put them in that I could access easily.

What a great idea. I'm an asthmatic too, so I have to watch out for heavy perfumed ones. I leave the box open and by the time I use it, no more smell. Also, I only use them to eliminate static cling! If you are a smoker, a fabric softener sheet in your package to your crafting buddy eliminates the smoke odor.

I found cutting them and leaving the strips in the open kleenex box it helps to freshen the air in my mud room too. I normally hang my clothes up to dry and don't toss them into the dryer until they are almost dry to soften them up. I tried using the unscented sheets and they seem to bother him more than the scented ones for some reason.
