Okay all you recyclers out there. I was given something today to develop ideas for. The girl that manages the 4H Clubs wants to know what she can craft out of these coffee filter cones?

Wow, painted up and painted with flowers, or decoupaged with something on it would make a really cute dress for a angel. What do you think? You could also turn it upside down, using some of the same ideas, and then make flowers out of some of them, and make that the basket for the flowers to go in. for a wall hanging

What I am picturing is to open up the cone and that will be a dress for an angel. Maybe gather it a bit all around. Use your spray glue and silver or gold glitter and then drape pearl beads down the dress all around. Attach a wooden ball or large bead for a head, a beaded halo and could even make wings out of one of these with a crystal glitter and an outline of pearl beads. Another idea it to form it into a tree shape, maybe folded around the sides, then stiffened and painted green, then embellish with a small bead garland and a star at the top. Hope these ideas help a little.

you could paint designs on them and slip over plain small lampshade and make a new cover for one of those battery or electric candle shades?

Sue..
I actually made flowers out of coffee filters!
Here how I made them:

Cut the filters, taking away the pieces I side and under the filter so that the cutout who you throw away looks like a L.

The filter can be opened then easily and you have now the double of it. Close it again and begin to cut leaves one next to the other without cutting them totally out. They have to be all attach. once you have it, color the filters with food color (water & food color in a bowl) beginning with the lightest color example. yellow Then putting the filter a bit into the bowl, leaving a bit of the color when you use the next darker one.ect.ect...

Hang the filters(petals)to dry on a string.
With the left over filters make some leaves (not attached)this are to ad to the stam. Now, take pipe cleaners-strews-tape and green tape(the one you use normally to make fake flowers.)

Attach the filter petals to a pipecleaner then take the straw and put the pipecleaner into. tape them together a bit and also tape on the straw a petal that you made of the filter scrap. Now take the green tape beginning where the pipecleaner and straw get together and go around once you get to the petal make sure its good attacht. Et voila! If you put the flowers into a vase that is filled with different colored water you will see the flower change color(but it gets wet!)

One tip:
once they are finisht, take a pen and curl the whole filter flowers it will look more real. I made all sorts of flowers with it,roses, margerites, and some strange to.LOL hug sabe

or perhaps you could...make sachets out of them...fill them with potpourri, close it up and either paint it or place it inside material cut into a heart...circle..etc. Use Sabe's idea in cutting a shape...stuff it to make an ornament...etc. Sort of like what Froggy did for Valentine's Day. now I'll have to think.
