This is for anyone who has done a bowling ball with the glass stones - did you use grout to finish it off? I started one and don't like all the gaps. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, Bonnie

Bonnie, I have used the glass marbles to cover other things and I prefer to use the grout. If you are using it for outside, I would recommend the sanded grout. It will hold better and is less likely to crack. Then seal the grout with a good grout sealer...just like you would for tiles. Make sure your adhesive that you attached the marbles or stones with is completely dry before grouting, or you could have problems with them falling off. They make the grout in different colors now and you can even color it yourself. You should be able to find information on this at any hardware or home improvement center. Hope this helps. Margie

Well, naturally I have the 'smooth' not sandy grout, but hopefully here in Texas it won't be a problem since we don't get the awful freezing temperatures....we just get this 100 degree heat! I saw on one site to use 1 part of acrylic paint to 3 parts of water to color the grout and then three coats of outdoor grout sealer. I guess I'll just give it a try. I should be done glueing tonight, so tomorrow or Sunday I can grout. Thanks for the info, Bonnie

Bonnie, You're very welcome. I even use the sanded grout for indoor crafts too. I have found that the other grout tends to crack, even inside. I have never had the sanded grout crack on me inside or out. Can't wait to see your bowling balls. I bet they will turn out great.
