Time Saving Tips:
Don't depend on memory! Write things down.
Every time you look up a number in the phone book, underline the number.
Try to get the doctor's first appointment of the day. This allows you more time with the doctor and it also gets you up and moving for the day.

Call in your prescription so you don't have to wait at the pharmacy.

Ask a store if it will preassemble something you've purchased without charging a fee.


Provide each family member a separate shelf or basket for toiletries to avoid wasting time digging for your own things.

Learn to say no and learn to set realistic deadlines.

Designate a "household key center," and do not set your keys anywhere else. Have backup keys strategically hidden.

Get enough sleep.

Clean up as you work. This cuts down on a huge amount of effort spent scrubbing stains and sorting through piles.

Always confirm appointments.

Try to do as much as possible by phone. This avoids waiting in long lines. If you are placed on hold you can do other things around the house while on hold.

Ideas for using some food items:
Leftover snacks magically disappear! Keep putting what's left into smaller bowls. This is an important trick for all food service. When the bowl looks full, it becomes inviting. A handful of chips at the bottom of a big bowl - unappetizing.

Do you have leftover ketchup in a nearly empty bottle? Add oil and vinegar, and give a shake. Instant salad dressing.
Is some oatmeal languishing on a shelf?
-Use oatmeal browned in butter as a substitute for nuts.
-Use oatmeal instead of bread crumbs
-Use oatmeal in meatloaf
Warm lemons before squeezing and they will yield almost twice as much juice.
Declare a Use Things Up Week in your home. Build meals out of food that has been sitting around.
