Cleaning Gourds
Cleaning the outside of a Dried Gourd:
Underneath the moldy skin is a wonderful smooth surface.

1..Soak the gourd:
  Let the gourd soak in warm water for 10 minutes.
  This can be done in a dish pan or a bucket.

2.. Scrubbing the gourd:
  Use a metal dis scouring pad to scrub away all of the moldy outer skin.
  Be sure there are no cracks or soft places.

3..Rinsing with bleach solution:
  Dip the cleaned gourd in a mild solution of chlorine bleach and water.
  Bleach kills the mold spores.
   Dry in the sun.
