Cleaning Gourds
Cleaning the outside of a Dried Gourd:
Underneath the moldy skin is a wonderful smooth surface.
1..Soak the gourd:
Let the gourd soak in warm water for 10 minutes.
This can be done in a dish pan or a bucket.
2.. Scrubbing the gourd:
Use a metal dis scouring pad to scrub away all
of the moldy outer skin.
Be sure there are no cracks or soft places.
3..Rinsing with bleach solution:
Dip the cleaned gourd in a mild solution of chlorine bleach and water.
Bleach kills the mold spores.
Dry in the sun.
