What do you use for the plastic part when you make a shaker card? I've tried to make one but the plastic I tried gets full of static and the stuff inside just sticks to it and won't move! Also, do you sandwich the shaker stuff between 2 pieces of plastic or use something else for the back?

They are the ones that have a window in them and behind the window is confetti. When you shake the card the confetti is supposed to move. It doesn't move for me!!!

Hazelanne, acetate is just a fancy word for plastic. A lot of people use plastic page protectors (plastic report covers) and cut them up for their shaker projects. I have used crafting plastic myself. It's a little heavier.

HELPFUL HINT: After you get your sticky back tape in place and remove the protective covering, run along the inside edges of the tape inside the box with a Q-tip doused in baby powder/talc. It will neutralize the glue on the tape and keep all of your loose confetti from sticking to the sides of your box.

Hazelanne, after you use the powder to make sure the glue doesn't "catch" any of the stuff you put in it ... could you take a clothes dryer sheet and rub all over the acetate to see if it will stop some of the static electricity?

One more idea. I have been saving the plastic that "everything" comes in nowadays! You know----your new glue gun----or toys--or games---you know -- the stuff that is almost impossible to get into?! Anyway, I have been cutting it to use as templates, but why wouldn't it work in these cards? It is pretty stiff, though, but you could glue a smaller piece around the edges that you will be gluing together anyway. That would make it hollow. I just couldn't throw it away!
