Bought one of these at the last show but now can't find it so will try and remember what it looked like and how it was made It was a reindeer made out of 2 candy canes.
The canes were put back to back w/the "hook" part out. Then wrapped tightly in tan yarn from the top to almost the bottom of the candy cane. I assume they probably taped the candy together before they started the winding process and then hot glued the ends of the yarn.
Then they put tiny wiggle eyes for the face and a little red pompom for the nose w/a bow where the neck would be. They were just as cute as could be and were $1...I collect reindeers so it immediately caught my eye Too bad I can't find it now They should be easy enough to make and not take too much time either. If anyone makes one, post a picture and let us see how they turned out. please.

Sharon, I can't visualize it. I hope you find it and can post a picture of it for us.
When my mom did holiday shows she always made up tiny things to catch peoples’ eyes. If they bought something from her, she give them a small gift/surprise.
One of her favorites to give was candy canes. She get some lace that had large holes in it and would weave the cane in and out of the holes. Add a bow and a gold string for a hanger.
Made a nice ornament. But she was a pit sneaky too, because if people came to the shows with their kids and the kids saw the canes, they'd beg mommy to buy it for them

Another quick idea...

Speaking of things for kids, there's something I used to make that kids bought like crazy to give mom and dad for Christmas.
I ran across some of these in a box in the basement the other night...
I took little mini blackboards, about 2x3" (sometimes they came with magnets on the back and sometimes I had to add my own), paint the wooden edging in bright colors and then use a white paint pen and write on it "Look what I made for Mommy" or something to that effect.
They could use them to hang their special pictures or good tests on the fridge. I think I sold them for 1.50. They don't fit into my booth anymore, but I'm going to take these leftovers to the art guild bazaar this year.
