Ribbon Snood

Materials:
Reynolds Menton, 4 (100-yard) spools;
aluminum crochet hook J;
1 yard hat elastic; large-eyed tapestry needle.
Gauge: 1 loop= 1 "

Starting at center top, ch 9. Join with a sl st to form ring.
1st rnd: (ch 9, sc in ring) 6 times. Mark beg of rnds.
Do not join but work around and around.

2nd rnd: Sl st over first loop, *ch 9, sc over same loop, ch 9, sc over next loop. Repeat from * around.

3rd rnd: *Ch 9, sc over next loop. Repeat from * around.

4th rnd: *(Ch 9, sc over next loop) twice; ch 9, sc over same loop.
Repeat from * around.

5th rnd: *(Ch 9, sc over next loop) 3 times; ch 9, sc over same loop. Repeat from * around.

Next rnd:*Ch 9, sc over next loop. Repeat from * around,increasing as necessary to keep work flat (inc by working ch 9, sc in same loop as last sc). Continue making loops in this manner, increasing as necessary to keep work flat, until piece measures 18" in diameter.

Last rnd: Work 2 sc over same loop, *sc in next sc, 4 sc over next loop. Repeat from * around, ending sc over last loop, sl st in first sc.
Break off.



FINISHING: For each bow, cut a 20" piece of ribbon; fold in half. with ribbon double, tie a bow over each sc(except sc of last rnd). Trim ends of ribbon diagonally. Thread elastic on needle and run elastic through scs of last round so elastic does not show.
Pull elastic up to fit head snugly. Tie ends securely.

Ribbon Triangle Snood

Materials:
Reynolds Menton, 4 (100-yard) spools;
aluminum crochet hook size J.
Gauge: 1 loop = 1".

Starting at face edge, ch 111.

1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (110 sts). Turn.

2nd row: *Ch 9, skip 4 sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * across (22 loops). Turn.

3rd row: Sl st in first 4 ch of first loop, * ch 9, sc over next loop. Repeat from * across(21 loops). Turn.

4th-20th rows: Repeat 3rd row. Not each row will have one less loop until the 20th row has one loop only. Break off.

FINISHING:
For each bow, cut a 20" piece of ribbon; fold in half. With ribbon double,tie a bow over each sc (except scs of starting row.) Trim ends of ribbon diagonally. To make ties, cut two 24" pieces of ribbon. Fold each in half and tie to each corner of front edge.

Crocheted Pink Snood
Size: adjustable to head size.

Materials:
Wright's Baby Ric Rack (this is a 1969 recipe so substitute), 17 5-yard cards;
Seven yards grosgrain ribbon. Plastic hook size K.

Gauge: 1 double-knot st=about 2 1/2 ". Note wind rick rack into a ball, knotting ends together.

Snood: Begin at center of crown, ch3, join with a slip stitch to form ring.
Round 1: 6 single crochet in ring. Do not join rounds.

Round 2: Single crochet in next single crochet, *pull up a loop on hook to measure 1": yarn over hoop and thru loop, single crochet under strand at back of long loop, repeat from * once (1 double knot stitch made), ** single crochet in next single crochet, work double knot-stitch, repeat from ** around, end single crohet in first single crochet-6 double knot-stitches.

Round 3: *Work double knot-stitch, sc in sc at center of next double knot-stitch, work double knot-stitch, sc in sc between knot-stitches, repeat from * around-12 double knot stitches.

Round 4: *Work double knot-stitch, sc in sc at center of next double knot-stitch, repeat from * around-12 double knot stitches.

Rounds 5-11: Repeat round 4.

Round 12:*Pull up a loop on hook to measure 1", yarn over hook and thru loop, sc under strand at back of long loop(single knot- stitch), sc in sc at center of next double knot-stitch, repeat from * around, 13 single knot-stitches.

Rounds 13-15: *Work single knot-stitch, sc in next sc between single knot-stitches, repeat from * around-13 single knot-stitches.
End off.

FINISHING: Cut ribbon diagonally in 6" lengths. Tie ribbons evenly spaced over double knot stitches.

This snood is so pretty and unique. It has ribbons tied all over it to give it the cute look. Of course, You may substitute whatever materials you want to work with.
