At Walmarts I bought little wooden trunks. they look like the ones our Granmothers used to have with the rounded tops.
I stained them first, and then decopauged a piec of muslin on the top ( not big enough to cover the whole thing, then I wrote on the muslin after dry....
a mothers love is a real treasure, (Grandmothers ) a friend is a real treasure, etc.
they are cute, and u can embellish with tiny flowers or bows, and or put little things inside.
I did they same tech. on 5x7 wood plaques my husband cut out, but your sayings can be longer on the,m. have a great day :)

A wonderful poem for a Mother's Day Present is:
The beautiful pearls in the world are caused by irratation.
The more the shell is irritated,
the more perfect and beautiful the pearl becomes.
Here is your special pearl....
When things are tough,
or you become discouraged,
look at the pearl and remember the Lord is trying to make
the most beautiful gem in the world out of you!!!!!!

Bath salts are nice and easy to make
1 part Epsom salt
1 part rock salt
a few drops of essential oil
food coloring for color add until desired color.
Its fast and if you premix all but the color scoop it into a zip lock bag, add the drops of color and shake.
Put it in a nice decorated baby food jar or a purchased one.
