Material Needed:
Baby Food Jar 6"X6" material for collar
Curly Hair
10"X18" material for arms & legs
Glue Gun 4"X8" lace material for body
wood doll head
Poly pellets weighted stuffing
(22mm or 1") Pinking Shears
Needle & thread 1/4" or 1/8" satin type ribbon

l. Use clean & dry baby food jar w/lid.

2. Remove lid. Wrap lace around jar and glue.
Trim top of lace close to rim of jar and glue or gather with needle and thread.
Trip bottom of lace so it will cover entire bottom of jar.
Sew or glue as flat and smooth as possible so jar will sit evenly.

3. Cut 3 strips of cloth from 10"X30" material.
1 for arms 12" X 3"
1 for legs 18" X 3"
1 for bow 3" X 4"

4. Cut around strip for bow with pinking shears Fold with an accordion fold 3 folds (like making a fan) and sew a seam directly through middle. Set aside.

5.Fold the strip for the arms, right sides together and sew length wise using a 1/2" seam allowance.
Turn right side out.
You should have a round tube with both ends open.
Fold in half and mark middle. Sew a seam in middle of tube.
This separates the tube into 2 arms using one strip of material.
Fill from both ends (one at a time) with poly pellets, leaving about 2 1/2" unfilled on both ends. Sew 1/2 seam to close each end.
Be careful to get all the pellets out of the way when sewing.
Trim edges with pinking shears and tie ribbon around each arm and make bow.

6. Follow same instructions in #5 for the strip for the legs.

7. Glue arms 1/2" down from rim of baby food jar.
Arms should hang around the sides of the jar toward the front.

8. Glue legs to bottom of jar folding in the center to shape the legs to the front of the jar.
Example of how to fold and glue.

9. Glue collar material around outside edge of jar lid.
Take pinking shears and cut a circle (about a inch out from edge of rim.
Put lid on jar.
Glue bow, tiny rose, etc. on front of collar

10. Glue wooden head to center of lid.
Glue hair (use your own hair design) and finish off with bow on top of head.

NOTE: You can use the large baby food jars and adjust the size of material and doll head.

I use printed material for arm, legs and bow and a solid color material for collar.
(These are really cute done in Christmas material and colors.)

You can also glue little wooden balls, spools, etc. For hands and feet.

You can just use scraps of material you have around the house and when you're finished the lid should unscrew and you can fill with candy, etc.
