You can take a metal barrette from your craft store and decorate it
by gluing ribbon or lace on the top of the barrette, then
you can glue small silk flowers on top or shells etc.
flower pot for mom.
You can take an orange juice can and glue ice cream sticks all around the
front of the can and add something of the front to decorate.
You can use silk flowers, shells, small flocked animals, wooden hearts
painted or use color markers to make red etc.
You can use ice cream sticks to make a square box and add styrofoam
and a few flowers to make a flower pot for mom.
make cat
You can glue a 3 inch pom pom on a pencil.
Squeeze pom pom tightly on pencil for a few minutes so the glue will
adhere to the pencil.
Cut from felt 2 white triangles for cat ears,
then cut 2 smaller triangles from pink felt and add top of the
white for the inner part of the ear & glue on top of the pom pom.
Get those plastic cat eyes from the cat store and glue on front of pom
pom.
Add a small pink felt triangle and glue on face for nose.
Get some pink stamins and cut in half, then add 3 on each side.
Tie & add a drop of glue to a ribbon and bow under pom pom on pencil.
make a Bear
You can also use 3 inch pom pom on pencil to make a Bear.
One large tan pom pom. 2 round smaller ones on top for ears,
& one on front of face for muzzle, then add a black flat bead on
the muzzle to make his nose.
Add 2 wiggle eyes and ribbon and bow on neck.
orange pumpkin
Again with the pom pom and pencil you can also do a orange pumpkin and
use felt shapes for eyes, nose and mouth.
You can also you a yellow pom pom and buy those plastic duck beaks
and glue to the front of the pom pom.
Add 2 wiggle eyes and ribbon and bow under pom pom for neck.
You can use nylon fishing line and bead and let them string a necklace.
You can let them make a t-shirt.
Just wash the t-shirt first with soap powder & no fabric softner so the
paint will adhere.
This will take out the sizing that is on the t-shirt.
You can put there hands in some acrylic paint and do hand prints on a t-shirt.
Just have a tin foil or card board inside to prevent paint from
coming thru the other side.
Acylic paint takes about 1 week to cure then you need to iron or set
it in a dryer to make it permanent.
You can use Liquid tex acrylic paint.
It also can be diluted in water to extend.
The bottle will tell you how.
With Liquid tex it doesn't have to be ironed or put into the dryer.
Or you can take a easy picture from a coloring book and photo copy it,
then place it inside the t-shirt.
You will be able to see thru the white shirt to follow the lines.
You can let the kids follow the lines in pencil first then recover
those lines with some dimensional paint in the squeeze bottle and
let them outline the pattern.
