Cookie Cutter Critters
Supplies:
colored plastic cookie cutter in various Easter animal shapes,
(12" length), pastel print ribbon to match each cutter,
Aleene’s tacky glue in the gold bottle,
scissors,
pencil and plastic wrap.
To finish the cookie cutter critters, use a couple of ¾" pastel eggs for duck,
a 1" white pom pom for bunny’s tail and a ½" gold liberty bell for the lamb.
Cut a ½" wide strip down the 12" length of each of the ribbons to use as bow
on cookie cutters. Set aside.
Cut the remainder of each ribbon in half width wise and glue pieces together
one piece above the other, overlapping ½" to make wider ribbon.
Lay the ribbon right side up in front of you.
Position the cookie cutter with cutter edge down and trace around the
outside with pencil. Carefully cut shape just inside pencil line.
Apply glue along cutting edge of cutter and place on top of right side of
ribbon to make a shadow box effect. Allow to dry on plastic wrap checking
to be sure that glued edges are in place.
Tie a bow with each ½" wide length of ribbon and glue in place at neck
of cutter. Glue eggs for the duck on the bottom inside of cookie cutter
edge in the middle. Bunny-place pom pom on inside of cookie cutter where
the tail would be. Cow- place bell with ribbon around neck.
