Balloon Sculpture
Don't know if this would be of interest for this particular event because
you end up "popping" the balloons, but here goes:
Mix plain white glue with paints (any water-based paint will do just fine)
with separate containers for each color. Have the
children dip strings or cords into the mixtures, then wrap the "colored
glue cords" around the balloons in all different overlapping directions.
If desired, sprinkle with "glitter" after wrapping but while cords still
are wet. Allow cords to dry completely & when dry, "pop" the
balloon & peel away. Resulting dried cords make interesting
3-dimensional sculptural ornaments.
