Baby Shower Favors
Hi Tina:
I got these ideas from Sue Nelson. She suggested as a party favor to use
disposable baby bottle liners filled with candy and tie with string
(it was under using rubber stamps and she also suggested stamping a
header-but I thought the bags were a great idea even without a message
stamped with it). She also suggested to re-wrap candy bars with pastel
"baby" paper.
Have fun. I'm giving a shower in August too and any ideas are a great help!

Hi Tina:
We used to make favors our of large gum drops and safety pins bent up so
you stick the pointed end down in the gum drop and put a broken end of a
toothpick into the eye of the safety pin that is bent to form the head of
a stork. Tie a ribbon aroud its neck and you have a stork. I guess you
could use anything for the gum drop to make it stand up. We also made
small diapers with small pieces of material and filled them with nuts
and mints.
Hope this helps.

Bears & Bottles, & Blocks:
Supplies:
wooden baby block (or) a baby block bead, a 1" flocked bear,
a miniature plastic baby bottle measuring approx. 1", one small silk
flower blossom, a tiny amount of Baby's Breath, 14" length 1/4"
wide satin ribbon, 3" length white cloth covered wire, tacky craft
glue & hanging cord (optional).
Fashion a 6-loop bow from the satin ribbon and fasten in center with
cloth covered wire. Glue it to the back corner on the top of the block.
Glue bear in front of the bow. Note: bear will face so that you can
see two sides of the block rather than straight front so you see only one
side. Now, attach bottle and silk blossom in front of bear. Cut tiny
sprigs from the baby's breath and glue in between bow, bear, flower,
and bottle. Glue hanger loop to back of bear's head, if desired.
Tina,
For bear in basket I forgot to put down to give him a miniature rattle
or baby bottle, you can also put bows on the outside of basket.

Can purchase small, clear doll bottles--fill with jelly beans and or small
bottles, pins, babies, etc. that go on cupcakes or cake squares.
Add ribbon.
Centerpiece:
Use large, clear colorfully decorated baby bottles fill with jelly beans,
cotton balls, q-tips, baby pins, baby wash cloths.
HELPFull "baby hint" -ala "fortune cookies.
Fill with "redeemable" coupons for future "baby/mother helping services"
ala gift certificate.
Could even "decorate" a 2 liter drink bottle as a baby bottle--with
giant paper-mache nipple.
Use a New baby "bathtub" for punch bowl, Add a few "(ice) boats".
Small "orginization" blocks could hold Chips, etc.
The Cake could be a "blanket" with inexpensive "baby" crawling/playing
on it. The cake could also be a (round layer) "baby-face" with a
"lace bonnet" and bow under chin.
Add pacifier to mouth area.
The cake can also be a rattle--two different sized cake circles with
ribbon(or cake bridge) handle.

Tina,
Here is a baby shower idea. They sell miniature weave baskets that come
in natural color. Very inexpensive baskets. Put a bear inside the basket
that is made out of 1" beige pom-pom for head. Use 2 smaller pom-poms for
ears & another pom for the muzzle that is larger then the ear size & smaller
then the 1" size. Use solid black beads with a flat back for eyes & nose.
Stuff basket with cotton, cover with material for a blanket & glue bear
head on top of blanket. Glue another 2 pom-poms that are the same size as
ears to top of blanket near the head & on the edge of the blanket for bears
hands. I hope this helps. Diana*
