Hi,
My daughter and I did this several years ago, but we used real a real egg.
We just made a small hole on both ends of the egg, making the hole on the bigger part of
the egg a little bigger than the other.
Then we blew the egg yolk and white out of the egg shell.
Then washed it out with water, and blew the water out.
Then dried the egg off, and added the tissue paper.
Two to three years later, the egg is still in perfect shape.
The glue, and tissue paper seems to harden it a little.
Don't worry if the egg shell cracks a little.

This year, I was thinking about filling my egg shells with Plaster of Paris,
allowing to dry, and then painting the shell.
In fact, I already have 11 "cleaned out" egg shells waiting for Easter!!!
I may try varnish or glitter this time, seems like it would be really pretty!!

Bye!

I also use emptied, washed & dried chicken eggs.
But instead of using tissue, I use washi (japanese handmade paper) & ordinary school glue
thinned with a little water (maybe you can use starch instead).

You need:
Styrofoam eggs....
Decorated Tissue Paper or Easter
Napkins....
glue.

Cut the designs out of the tissue paper or napkins.
Water down the glue a little bit (I like this method for this better than mod podge)
then adhere the cut out to the egg with the glue.
Continue doing this until the egg is covered...then coat with another coat of glue.
After it dries, you can paint a coat of varnish on it for a shinier effect.
Or while the last coat of glue is still damp...sprinkle a very fine glitter over the egg.
Very pretty.
