My Grandmother made easter baskets from old bleach bottles or milk jugs.
They looked like Bunnies or Chickees.
With the bottle standing upright she cut out a "stomach" in front, kind
of high though, so it would hold the grass & candy. She used the cut out
piece to shape ears.

Stuck a strofoam ball on top for a head, hooked a plastic face to the front,
and the ears on top. She used cotton balls for the tail.
And thento hide how she hooked the face on, she gave each some personality
with a whicker hat, or cloth bonnet, both with ribbons around the top and
tied under the "neck".

I think she also made a pig, using a pink bottle.
The chicks were made using a yellow bottle.
Since each had a handle they were real easy for kids to hold.
She gave them "clothes", by glueing fabric around, that was cut to look
like a dress, or vest (for the boy).

She also added lace to some around the neck at the top of the "dress".
They were totally cute!
I'm sorry I don't have more info, my memory is kind of faded, it was
almost 30 years ago. I'm posting this in her memory. She passed away
Thursday. :( Thank You all for letting me give you a glimpse of
who she was. She would have got a kick out of this! :)
