Unique barette/pin holder

Upper torso:
At bottom of sheet of newspaper draw a 12 inch square.
Draw a line one inch down from top of square.
You will have a 1 inch by 12 inch strip inside the 12 inch square.

Head:
Using 9 inch dinner plate for head size, draw a circle on
top of square-leave equal distance on each side of square.
You will be centering "head" on Shoulders.

The one inch section between "head" and "upper torso" becomes the
"neck" when you measure 2 inches from Center to each side and draw a
line from the circle to upper torso.

Round off "shoulders" on upper torso.

Cut pattern out of plywood.

Add hanger to back. (or you could make it to sit on shelf)

You can use a mirror for the face or paint one. Add yarn hair.
Makes it easy to attatch bows.

Cover front of body with thin quilt batting, add "blouse"
in fabric of choice. Can have "pocket" for comb, brush.

A scarf or large collar around "neck", is a great place for pins.

Can make this as simple or as fancy as desired. Foam core board would
not be as durable as plywood.

Other options:

Could even add small boxed ledge like plant holder (at bottom of window
frames) at bottom to hold makeup--would work to make this holder free
standing.

A "wire" scarf could hold earrings and the "blouse (pleated or ruffled)"
could hold pins.
I made one of these years ago for my daughter. It sure came in handy.
