Hi, Bonnie. We have a carnival every year and every year the parents get more and more creative. I can list some of the great stands they have had and then I can tell you about some of the prizes. Hope you find some ideas useful!
~ Lollipop Ring Toss- Parents drilled small holes in a piece of plywood (I'd say 3 feet wide by 5 feet high with holes drilled approx. 2 inches appart) and put a "DumDum" lollipop in each hole. They had small plastic rings (Mother said she got them at a craft store for 10 cents a piece) that they allowed the children to toss and try to "ring" a pop. If they suceeded, they won the pop.
~ Wet Sponge Toss- Children decorated a refrigerator box and on the front they had painted two characters with their heads cut out. Two chldren stood with their heads in the cut-outs and players were given 3 sponges to try and soak a character's face.
~ Duck, Duck, Pull- Group filled a small wadding pool with a few inches of water (we had very strict regulations with children around the water) They labeled the ducks with the prize that each duck was worth. They had about 15 "smalls" (prizes), 6 Med.,and 3 larges. Children just reached in, pulled a duck, and won a prize.
