These are great fun to make with the kids.
1 cup chunky peanut butter, 1 cup suet, and 2 1/2 cups coarse cornmeal
mixed all together then add the Black sunflower seeds
(garden center usually stock these), raisins and or peanuts.
Mush it all together.

With a spoon, fork, or just your hands, pack some of the mixture
into pine or fir cones.
Tie cones with twine, & then hang for the feathered friends to enjoy
your crafting.
Get the camera & bird identifying books ready! Enjoy.

I don't know if this has ever been posted but I will post it anyway.
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
1 cup LARD (NO SUBSTITUTIONS)
Melt these together in microwave.

Add:
1/3 cup white sugar
1 cup white all purpose flour
2 cups corn meal
2 cups quick cooking oats

Mix everything together and then pour into containers.
I've used those plastic sandwich containers because then it fits into my
metal suet hanger.

I've also put it into baking cups with a string run through it so I can
hang it when it hardens and spread it into large pinecones.
In the containers or baking cups put it in the fridge or freezer until set.
doesn't drip and melt all over your deck or yard in the summer and it's
great in the winter too.
