Paper Mache

3 Paper Mache recipes:

1) stir three parts water into one part flour until the mixture is smooth
and creamy. To make the paste last longer, add a few drops of oil of
Wintergreen. You can buy this oil at a drugstore.

2) buy some wallpaper paste at a hardware store. Mix one part wallpaper
paste with three parts water. Stir well and the paste is ready to use.

3) mix two parts white glue with one part warm water. Stir well and the
paste is ready to use.

PINATAS:

Newspaper strips
Flour
Water
Bowl
Balloon

Blow up balloon and place it in a small bowl or
orange juice can so it will stay upright.
Just mix flour and water together until you have a
consistency similar to a creamy white sauce.

Take your newspaper strips approximately 1-2 inch wide,
by however long you think you can handle and place
these strips on the balloon criss-crossing back and
forth until you have about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thickness.

Let it dry overnight. Once dry, pop balloon and
decorate as you wish. You may use tissue paper
cut into 2 inch squares and glue on by wrapping
around a pencil eraser and then dip in glue and apply.

Put a string through so you can hang it up. If you
have made it very thick, you may want to consider
cutting a few slices into the sides to make it weaker
for the younger kids. You don't want it to not open
up when the kids hit it!
Good luck!
