HALLOWEEN BUG JAR TREAT

Saw something similar to this in a book for Halloween. Sorry I can't remember the title. I was just getting inspired-)

Take a used jar with a plastic lid.
Cut a circle out of the lid almost the size of the diameter,
you'll just have a little more than the screw down part left.
(Or you can do what was in the book and use a canning jar with just the ring, no lid part.)
Spray paint the lid/ring black. Cut a piece of window screening about 6" square or a size that
will fit the top of the jar with enough overhang to stick out from the lid when you screw it down. Now fill the jar with Hersey's Hugs; put screen on top and screw down lid.

I made orange colored labels for the jar that read "Halloween Bugs" and put clip art of spiders and ants on it. (The book used Hugs & Kisses with a hang tag attached to the ring with jute or raffia reading "Bugs + Hisses". They then slightly burned the edges of the tag.) There you have it- a bug jar filled with candy. Maybe filling it with some gummy worms would be interesting too.
